Ssalefish GSO First Look #68 for 7.18.18
The work really never ends! After getting back from vacation, knocking out those 1,000+ pre-orders for our Batman #50 variant, having a huge week in the shop, and overcoming a few big coloring deadlines, I turn my attention to the most daunting task of all...bagging, boarding, and sorting my own comics from the last six months or so!
I used to be insanely meticulous about my books: redeeming all of the digital codes, sealing them up, cataloging them in my Collectorz database, and tucking them all away in the archives, everything in its place every week. But once I sold about 2/3rds of my collection (50 long boxes down to about 15) leading up to the opening of the shop, I slacked off hard, taking a much more, I think, enjoyable approach to collecting. But to each their own.
It kind of reminds me of Kevin Smith's fake anecdote about Stan Lee from Comic Book The Movie, where he talks about tearing his comics in half when he's done with them because they're meant to be disposable media. I'm not that bad yet, but I'm getting there for my own stuff.
