I’m looking forward to seeing all of you guys out at Twin City Comic Con this Sunday! I think we put on the biggest and best little show in the state, and even though it’s a long day from sun-up to sundown, it’s great to have such a perfect mix of creators and dealers, fans and pros, accessible to everyone with very little stress on the patron’s part! And you can’t get much better for a 2nd anniversary party!

Starting today, we’re jumping on the ComicHub bandwagon and revolutionizing our point-of-sale experience for us and YOU! You can login to your own ComicHub account, select Ssalefish Comics - Greensboro as your preferred store, and begin ordering your books, anything from next week to two months out! You can also set up notification emails for when special orders and subscriptions have filled, pay for your order, and interact with us directly!

I don’t think any midnight release in the two years we’ve been open has been as highly anticipated as next Tuesday’s Detective Comics #1000 event! We’ve literally had people calling daily for over a month, anxious to celebrate the Dark Knight’s 80th anniversary, we’ll be ready for them with the following covers available, all for the printed price of $9.99:

Bret came back from SC Comicon last weekend with some booty! I’ve been dropping them once a day on Instagram this weekend, but this will give you a sneak peak at the fourth and final bomb as well as some honorable mentions if you click through!

Normally we would go over to our neighbors at the AMC Classic 18 on Koger Boulevard for the release of a new Marvel movie and pass out free coinciding comics, but for the first time in the two years we’ve been open, they’re not getting the new Marvel movie! That plus the distinguished competition having the only other theater on this side of town covered means that here at the shop (while supplies last) we’ll be giving away a reprint of the first issue of Kelly Sue DeConnick’s character-defining run and a preview book with glimpses at the current ongoing series, the Life of Captain Marvel origin story, and Ms. Marvel’s adventures in Marvel Rising.

Threw some color on this piece by Cassie Hart Kelly to promote our Comics For Kids fundraiser, Jazz for Geeks at the Community Theater of Greensboro on Friday, March 29th at 8 PM! The show also serves as a swan-song for Greensboro institution Geeksboro and its founder, Joe Scott. Come out and have a great time while helping us purchase brand-new, age-appropriate comics for students at area Title I schools!

Desert Island Top 5 Comics in no particular order: All-Star Superman, New Frontier, Casanova, Scott Pilgrim, and The Umbrella Academy. Tonight, as I did in 2008 before the Justice League animated adaptation of Darwyn Cooke’s beloved opus of DC and 2010 before Edgar Wright’s cult-smash debut (I’ve never watched the ASS DC feature and I’ll probably never have to worry about this with Cass), I’ll read the first two collections one last time with whatever my brain can come up with for their voices before the actors replace them forever.
