Ssalefish GSO First Look #344 for 12.6.23

Thanks to everyone that picked up their pulls, shopped the stores, came out to the final warehouse sale, purchased something on eBay, or took part in all of our Black Friday Sales, leading to our most successful November of all time! It was truly a whirlwind, and we can’t wait to keep the good vibes going to round out the year!

On the personal side of things, my guitar, pictured above, has been clear-coated out in San Diego, bringing it one step closer to back home, I just borrowed Super Mario Bros. Wonder from Smitty, I’m halfway through the first novel of Phase III of the High Republic, and I have an essay’s worth of positive thoughts about Scott Pilgrim Takes Off on Netflix!

The following titles are scheduled to ship on Wednesday, December 6th (Tuesday, December 5th for DC) excluding some re-orders and providing nothing changes by the time the final invoice arrives on Monday:

  • Adventure Comics #260 Facsimile Edition

  • Alpha Flight #5 - “Fall of X” tie-in.

  • Amazing Spider-Man #39 - “Gang War” tie-in featuring the final Disney100 crossover variant cover paying homage to Jim Lee’s iconic X-Men #1!

  • Avengers #8

  • Batman #404 Facsimile Edition - the first of a weekly reprint of the entirety of Frank Miller & David Mazzucchelli’s ground-breaking, innovative, and must-read “Batman Year One”!

  • Ghost RIder/ Wolverine Weapons of Vengeance TP

  • Giant Days Library Edition HC vol. 5

  • Scooby-Doo Where Are You #125

  • Sentry #1 - though he’s been out of the spotlight since 2018’s Marvel Knights 20th, Robert Reynolds, created by Paul Jenkins & Jae Lee in 2000, is one of the most powerful, complicated, and innovative characters in Marvel history, and he’s got some new buzz lately with the news that Invincible voice actor Steve Yeun is supposed to play him in next year’s Thunderbolts movie.

  • Shazam #6

  • Superman ‘78 Metal Curtain #2

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Last Ronin #5 - final issue.

  • Thunderbolts #1 - speaking of Sentry…

  • Time Traveler Tales #1

  • Titans Beast World Tour Metropolis #1

  • Titans Beast World Waller Rising #1

  • Transformers #3 - the only comic in years that I tear into the boxes from the distributor as soon as they arrive because I literally can’t wait any longer to read the next issue! It reminds me of when Ed Brubaker was writing Captain America and Marvel actually used to send what they called “preview copies”, a Priority Mail envelope stuffed full with a print copy of every Marvel comic coming out the following week, sent to every comic shop in the country the Wednesday before, just so customers could get more excited about what was coming up and retailers had more time to read everything in advance and make more informed sales pitches.

  • Usagi Yojimbo Ice & Snow #3

  • Venom #28

  • Walking Dead Deluxe #78

  • X-Men #29 - “Fall of X” tie-in.

  • Zatanna & the Ripper TP vol. 2
